About the role
BBK is seeking an experienced and highly motivated attorney with a minimum of eight (8) years of legal experience to join our growing practice, with a focus on municipal law, real estate, and housing-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Advising public clients on municipal governance, regulatory compliance, land use, zoning, and public policy issues
- Handling complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development
- Counseling clients on housing law matters, including affordable housing and related regulatory frameworks
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage matters independently and efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships
- A portable book of business is strongly preferred
- An entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in contributing to the continued growth of the practice
Requirements
This role is based in our Houston office and candidates must be licensed to practice in Texas.
Qualifications
- Minimum of eight (8) years of legal experience
- Strong foundation in municipal law, real estate, and housing-related matters
- Experience handling complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development
- Significant experience counseling clients on housing law matters, including affordable housing and related regulatory frameworks
Skills
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage matters independently and efficiently
- Strong client relationship management skills
Benefits
The reasonably expected pay scale for this position seeking an attorney with 8 or more years of experience is $185,000 - $200,000. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.
