About the role
The Municipal Engineer role involves designing and reviewing civil infrastructure projects such as stormwater management, sewer systems, grading, and land development plans for municipal clients. Responsibilities include preparing technical specifications, bidding documents, and cost estimates; supporting permit applications; and conducting construction observations to ensure projects align with design and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design and review civil infrastructure projects including stormwater management, sewer systems, grading, and land development plans for municipal clients.
- Prepare technical specifications, bidding documents, and cost estimates.
- Support permit applications and conduct construction observations to ensure compliance with design and regulations.
- Review subdivision and land development plans against local ordinances and the PA Municipalities Planning Code.
- Represent the firm at township meetings and public hearings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania regulations, including DEP and PennDOT processes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Experience with Pennsylvania municipalities or related regulations is a plus.
- Progression towards a Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE) license is encouraged.
