Municipal Court Clerk
Hiring range: $24.17 - $27.21 per hour
About the Position
The City of Grand Junction is searching for a Court Clerk to perform a variety of technical and administrative functions in support of municipal court services, parking ticket payments, ordinances, regulations, and records management. This position will provide assistance and customer service to the general public, as well as a variety of duties for defendants and court hearings. The role supports and assists the Municipal Court Judge during court sessions and works closely with the City Attorney's office. The position reports to the Municipal Court Administrator.

About the Municipal Court
The City of Grand Junction Municipal Court handles traffic, misdemeanor, animal control, and juvenile cases. The Municipal Court Judge is appointed by the City Council. The Judge represents the judicial component of the court, the City Attorney serves as the prosecutorial component, and the Administrator oversees the business operations of the court.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries about ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures; research and direct to appropriate City departments.
- Perform data entry of case and investigative information, including warrant entry, arrest, suspect, vehicle, location, property and evidence information, and field interviews for the in-house records management system, National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC).
- Perform computer inquiries of NCIC/CCIC systems for wanted persons, warrant information, driver history and registration, attempt to locate, property, guns, vehicles, and other information; utilize in-house software for various database systems.
- Provide customer service for municipal court and parking services, including ticket processing, payments, and coordinating court-related deadlines.
The selected candidate must comply with the City of Grand Junction's Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for handling and securing payment card information.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of administrative support experience.
- Experience in court, judicial, and/or law enforcement or a related field is preferred.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, clearance to access NCIC/CCIC data.
