About The Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing engineering and infrastructure consulting organization seeking an experienced Municipal Capital Projects Manager to support and lead public infrastructure initiatives throughout the Southeast. This role is ideal for a senior-level civil engineering professional with strong experience managing municipal capital improvement projects, public infrastructure programs, and stakeholder coordination efforts. The selected candidate will play a critical role in overseeing public works and infrastructure projects from planning through construction while serving as a key liaison between municipalities, consultants, contractors, utilities, and community stakeholders. What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage municipal capital improvement and infrastructure projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction phases
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, scopes, and deliverables to ensure successful execution
  • Prepare and review project cost estimates, scopes of work, bid packages, and contractor proposals
  • Support contract administration activities in coordination with procurement and legal teams
  • Monitor project progress and provide status reporting to leadership and stakeholders
  • Support roadway, streetscape, sidewalk/shared-use path, utility, drainage, bridge, and transportation improvement projects
  • Coordinate with utility providers, municipalities, contractors, consultants, and property owners throughout project execution
  • Review engineering plans and ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations
  • Assist with utility coordination, right-of-way considerations, and construction issue resolution
  • Conduct field visits, inspections, and site reviews to support construction oversight and project delivery
  • Serve as a key point of contact between project teams, municipalities, contractors, and public stakeholders
  • Participate in public meetings, coordination sessions, and community engagement efforts
  • Support public communication initiatives related to infrastructure and capital improvement projects
  • Investigate and respond to public concerns, project inquiries, and service-related issues

Preferred Experience

Strong experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:

  • Municipal Capital Improvement Programs (CIP)
  • Public Works Infrastructure
  • Transportation & Roadway Projects
  • Utility Coordination
  • Stormwater & Drainage Infrastructure
  • Construction Administration & Field Oversight
  • Public Sector Infrastructure Programs
  • Transportation or DOT Coordination

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 7+ years of experience managing municipal or public infrastructure projects
  • Experience supporting or managing capital improvement programs and public works initiatives
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, municipalities, and utility providers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced infrastructure environment

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DOT-funded or locally administered transportation projects
  • Construction management and field coordination experience
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement and infrastructure delivery processes
  • Experience working directly with municipalities or public agencies
  • Local market knowledge within the Southeast region
