Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a clinically-oriented Neurologist specializing in Pediatric Epilepsy to join our practice within a large, community-based academic medical center. This role partners with major health systems in Northern New Jersey and supports a growing clinical service.

Responsibilities

• Participate in call and weekend rounds.
• Participate in floor service.
• Supervise and provide care in outpatient clinic sessions.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians to care for patients admitted through the emergency room.
• Educate and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Participate in community outreach.

Pediatric Epileptology

• Participate in Child Neurology call and weekend rounds at University Hospital (UH) and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBI).
• Participate in floor service at UH and NBI.
• Read pediatric and adult patient EEG reports for University Hospital.
• Supervise residents and provide care in the weekly Pediatric Seizure Clinic.

Vascular Neurology

• Provide up to 18 weeks of inpatient stroke service per year.
• Participate in the brain attack team (BAT calls) during service weeks at UH.
• Conduct general neurology clinic once per week.
• Provide weekend rounds at UH (approximately 1 in 9 call days).
• Develop an outpatient clinical practice in cerebrovascular disorders at Rutgers NJMS.
