About the role

The UCC National Ministries seeks candidates who are committed to social justice and equity, particularly in the areas of gender and sexuality. The successful candidate will work to advance the mission of the UCC through advocacy, education, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for policies and practices that promote gender and sexuality justice
• Develop and implement strategies to address gender-based violence and discrimination
• Collaborate with partners to build coalitions and networks focused on gender and sexuality issues
• Provide training and resources to staff and congregations on gender and sexuality issues
• Engage in research and policy analysis related to gender and sexuality

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., sociology, psychology, public health)
• At least 5 years of experience working in gender and sexuality justice
• Experience in advocacy, coalition building, and community organizing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

• Commitment to social justice and equity
• Understanding of intersectional feminism and LGBTQ+ rights
• Experience with data entry and processing
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Skills

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of gender and sexuality issues and advocacy strategies
