About the role
Best Buddies MA & RI is hiring for two positions: 1) Employment Consultant - based in Worcester, starting immediately; 2) Program Manager - based in South Shore/Cape Cod, starting immediately.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with individuals with IDD to foster friendships and support their professional growth.
- Support the implementation of Best Buddies programs including friendship-building activities, job training, and leadership development workshops.
- Collaborate with local businesses to provide employment opportunities for individuals with IDD.
- Conduct outreach to potential employers and community partners to promote Best Buddies initiatives.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring compliance with Best Buddies policies and procedures.
- Represent Best Buddies at various events and meetings, both locally and regionally.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, sociology, or human services.
- Experience working with individuals with IDD, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Passion for promoting inclusion and equality for individuals with IDD.
Qualifications
- Experience in employment services or related field.
- Knowledge of best practices in disability advocacy and inclusion.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals and organizations.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in using technology for data management and project tracking.
