Multimedia Journalist

About the role

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a bilingual multi-media journalist with strong social media skills, news judgment, and dynamic live television abilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for work and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Generate stories with minimum direction
• Shoot and edit news stories
• Produce daily content on a variety of platforms
• Develop sources and contacts
• Contribute story ideas daily
• Set up interviews and other appointments as needed for background on assigned stories
• Participate in station related events
• Maintain close communication with news team, show producers and news director
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism
• 1-2 years of reporting experience
• Must be a strong live reporter
• Must work well under time deadlines
• Capable of reporting live from the field on breaking stories
• Willing to work early morning, morning, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Strong understanding of news gathering ethical and legal issues

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish (read and write)
• Strong reporting skills
