Role Overview

The Multimedia Graphic Designer will produce visual content to enhance MSF-USA's storytelling, engage audiences, and inform the public about MSF's medical humanitarian efforts worldwide. Responsibilities include producing graphics for digital media and video, such as infographics, interactive graphics, and motion graphics, and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.

Department Accountabilities

  • The Communications Department develops a consistent message to inform both US and international audiences about MSF, its field activities, and humanitarian principles. They also aim to raise awareness about the needs of the populations served and advocate for MSF's positions on field operations and the Access Campaign.

  • External Communications develop and distribute communications products across various channels to highlight humanitarian needs and engage audiences. Public Engagement & Advocacy identify significant issues and execute integrated plans to increase public awareness and support for advocacy priorities. Brand Positioning involves developing and implementing brand strategy and guidelines.

  • Content Creation involves producing powerful graphics, print materials, and collaborating with the Communications team on digital and print projects. Public Engagement Execution includes creating visual assets for social media campaigns and public engagement activities. Brand Positioning involves implementing brand strategy and guidelines.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of directly relevant experience, preferably with a non-profit and/or media organization.

  • Strong portfolio of digital assets and motion graphics with similar non-profit, media, or client work.

  • Solid background in print design.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in visual communications design, information design, graphic design, digital/media arts, film/video, photography or related field.

  • Project management experience, including keen attention to detail, the ability to track multiple projects at one time, and to prioritize ongoing vs. immediate needs appropriately.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce compelling multimedia designs and motion graphics.
