About the Role
This position supports marketing and communications strategies for the overall Port brand and core business segments through multimedia channels including print, video, website, and social media platforms. The role involves developing and executing exceptional design solutions that align with port-wide strategy and promote the Port’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Create visually appealing and cohesive designs for various print and digital platforms, including magazine, newspaper and outdoor advertising, brochures, banners and displays, signage, and promotional materials.
- Develop and implement online content that aligns with the Port’s communications objectives.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Port’s website, including content updates, visual design modifications, and functionality enhancements using the web content management system Sitefinity.
- Ensure website content is accurate and compliant with standards and best practices.
- Monitor website-related issues and coordinate with technical support teams (internal and external) to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Design, develop, and manage content posts for all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads, and YouTube.
- Work collaboratively with the Port’s Communications Team and cross-functional departmental teams to develop high-quality creative solutions that effectively and consistently promote the Port’s brand and messaging.
- Develop ideas for improving the Port’s communications effectiveness with internal and external audiences, including innovative ways to engage audiences through emerging media and graphic design.
- Stay informed of emerging design trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure innovative and visually compelling multimedia content.
- Create and assemble collateral materials and presentations for departments as needed.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Emerging/Multimedia or Graphic Design.
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience in graphic design, video production, animation, and interactive media.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and diverse multimedia projects.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and multimedia software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
- Experience with Mac OS/PC platforms and website content management systems, particularly Sitefinity.
- Experience managing and organizing digital assets using cloud storage and file-sharing platforms, particularly Microsoft Teams/SharePoint, WeTransfer, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and time-efficient.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Effective project management skills, including the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification in Digital Marketing (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Able to secure a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in an office environment.
- Duties include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
- Work is performed in an office environment.
