Key Responsibilities
- Translates content into visuals for digital and print presentations.
- Creates motion graphics in a multitude of formats for use on the website, social media, texts, HTML emails, advertising, digital signage, and mobile apps.
- Contributes to visual messaging that supports recruitment, retention, brand awareness, reputation, and strategic priorities of the College.
- Conceptualizes, shoots, edits, designs and develops multimedia content.
- Works with design colleagues, content developers, web developers, and photographer and videographer to develop visuals in concert with MVCC’s existing branding guidelines.
- Generates creative design thinking and solutions to achieve communications goals through advertisements designed for print, digital, and other media.
- Applies professional graphic design skills, and designs that compel advertisement materials and promotional items that represent MVCC’s brand.
- Consults with other office staff to ensure that advertising designs are consistently co-branded with other Web, print, and media.
- Manages multimedia projects from conception to completion, ensuring that the project meets the requirements of stakeholders and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Creates and maintains a database of vendors, job specifications, project progress, production coordination, photography selection, and assesses advertising effectiveness.
- Works with vendors to determine the technical specifications and schedules of advertisements, with clients and colleagues to determine advertising priorities and timelines, and researches products and resolves technical problems.
- Stays up-to-date with the latest multimedia trends, tools, and techniques, and shares knowledge with colleagues.
- Ensures that advertisements meet the same design and quality control standards as print publications, digital and other media.
- Represents the Office of Marketing and Communications in a professional, dependable manner and courteously interacts with constituents across the College and the broader community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field and minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in a related professional field.
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills; ability to prioritize, coordinate, and schedule work assignments in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with higher education advertising and demonstrated success in the use of Adobe software to achieve the conceptualization, design, and production of print and digital deliverables.
