About the role

The Content Specialist, Multimedia is an innovative thinker with superior creative skills and a passion for visual storytelling. This role reports to the Director, Brand & Content and drives the organization’s visual content efforts (80% video, 20% photography) from ideation to execution across owned and shared media channels. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and embraces MedVet’s values of teamwork, leadership, and compassion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the organization’s visual storyteller by curating and developing compelling video concepts aimed at engaging MedVet’s audiences and key stakeholders; lead each stage of video production from concept to final cut (storyboarding, producing, capturing footage, editing, color correcting, motion graphics, sound mixing, etc.)
  • Support photography-related needs (20%), including fulfilling headshot requests for MedVet caregivers, employee pet photos, and sourcing/editing images for blog posts
  • Develop and manage a video production calendar, ensuring alignment with the overarching editorial calendar and key themes to resonate with core audiences across multiple platforms
  • Stay on top of emerging visual storytelling trends to fuel creative initiatives and foster a test-and-learn approach
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, consistency, and on-brand messaging across all video assets
  • Source and partner with external creative vendors as needed; create clear and concise statements of work (SOWs) and hold partners accountable for budget, schedules, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with influencers and content creators on key brand storytelling initiatives
  • Partner with the Senior Specialist, Social Media to develop monthly content calendars, ensuring a healthy mix of visual storytelling and platform-specific assets

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading multimedia (photo and video) production from ideation to execution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Film/Video, Design, or similar media-driven field
  • Experience in veterinary or human healthcare preferred but not required
  • Proven ability to be self-sufficient in developing, producing, and editing photo and video content that supports organizational objectives
  • Deep understanding of the creative and logistical content production process, from conceptualization to post-production
  • Highly innovative and creative, with the ability to spearhead video and photo initiatives that thoughtfully capture MedVet’s expert, compassionate care
  • Exceptional project management skills to see projects through from ideation to execution; track record of managing and optimizing creative processes in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at shooting social-first content via iPhone and DSLR equipment; high comfort level being behind the lens
  • Hands-on experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects) or other relevant photo and video editing software
  • Proficiency in editing photos and videos for various digital and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; working knowledge of Canva and project management tools like Monday.com is a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate daily with internal and external stakeholders in alignment with MedVet’s core values
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time to capture visual content across the organization

Pay

Initial hiring range of $80,000 to $90,000 based on skillset and experience.
