Summary
Administers medication to patients according to prescriptions, provides patient education, and participates in various healthcare services. Oversees pharmacy operations and staff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complies with federal, state laws, and company policies.
- Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, maintains records, and manages inventory.
- Counsels patients and medical providers on drug usage, interactions, and side effects.
- Participates in patient-centered services such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Supervises pharmacy staff and ensures compliance with policies.
- Trains and evaluates pharmacy interns, technicians, and associates.
- Provides exemplary service and resolves customer issues.
- Engages in business development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
- Completes required continuing education.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
- Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
- Immunization Certification.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, electronic).
- Strong decision-making and leadership abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and evaluate others.
- Professional appearance and adherence to dress code.
- Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Age 21 or older.
- Eligible for Department of Labor monitoring.
Education and Experience
- 5-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
- Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
- Immunization Certification.
- Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems.
Physical Requirements
- Equipment used includes: Pharmacy computer system, telephone systems, POS systems, pill counting devices, automated dispensing devices (robots), pharmaceutical compounding equipment.
