About the role

9NEWS in Denver is seeking a Multi-Skilled Journalist to cover news in the rapidly growing Mile High City. The ideal candidate will be a positive problem solver capable of producing compelling daily content for both broadcast and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

Pitch enterprise and compelling promotable stories for a morning viewer, ensuring content can be teased throughout the morning.
Turn content for a daily broadcast and digital platform deadlines including web articles and mobile short video.
Develop contacts and sources within Colorado communities.
Contribute vertical content for the app and on-air.
Stream digital assignments as needed.

Requirements

A journalism or communications degree is preferred.
Three to five years of daily local newsgathering experience is required.
The candidate must be able to shoot, write, and edit video using a non-linear video editing software program.
A thorough understanding of the principles and practice of effective and ethical newsgathering is expected.
A strong on-air presentation with the ability to speak smoothly during live coverage, including completely unscripted breaking news situations, is required.

Pay

Final salary based on experience. Pay Range: $33.65 - $43.26 USD.
