About the role

At Mark-Taylor, we are seeking a Multi-Site Service Technician at POD 1 in Tempe, AZ. This role involves keeping our POD 1 communities running smoothly by handling maintenance repairs and contributing to the upkeep of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
  • Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
  • Perform daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns.
  • Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
  • Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
  • Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Requirements

  • Experience as an apartment maintenance technician is highly desirable.
  • General knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
  • Knowledge of building systems.
  • Service orientation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Skills

  • OSHA-related standards knowledge.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hr - $24.00/hr. All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.

  • Housing discounts are subject to availability at each community.
  • Team members are eligible for additional certification pay 90-days from hire.
