Position Summary
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Immunization Program Oversight
- Lead all aspects of vaccine management across multiple sites, including storage, handling, inventory, and documentation.
- Ensure full compliance with VFC (Vaccines for Children) /317/ NJIIS, CDC, and New Jersey Department of Health requirements.
- Perform monthly audits of vaccine storage, temperature logs, and documentation.
- Investigate and resolve vaccine errors; implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain audit readiness for HRSA, VFC, and DOH reviews.
Clinical Training & Workforce Development
- Affiliate with the implementation of standardized training programs for LPNs and Medical Assistants.
- Oversee onboarding, competencies, and annual clinical skills validations (e.g., injections, documentation, workflows).
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and real-time feedback to clinical staff (LPN's and MA's).
- Identify performance gaps and recommend targeted improvement plans.
- Support workforce development initiatives, including certifications and continuing education.
Workflow Oversight & Accountability
- Monitor and enforce clinical workflows related to immunizations, intake, and patient flow.
- Conduct regular audits of LPN and MA workflows, documentation, and task completion.
- Ensure adherence to Epic workflows, standing orders, and UDS documentation standards.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Partner with front desk leadership to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and operational support.
Multi-Site Clinical Operations Leadership
- Supervise and support clinical support staff (LPNs and MAs) across multiple locations (minimum 20+ staff).
- Travel between sites to ensure consistency in clinical operations and compliance.
- Collaborate with DON, Nurse Manager, and leadership to resolve operational challenges.
- Lead trainings, and performance improvement initiatives for MA's & LPN's.
Quality & Compliance Support
- Support quality initiatives aligned with HRSA UDS measures, including immunization rates and preventive care outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and clinical safety standards.
- Participate in incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions, as directed by DON.
- Maintain current knowledge of FQHC regulatory requirements and best practices.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in an FQHC, ambulatory care or community health
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory/management experience, overseeing staff across multiple sites
- Strong experience managing VFC/317/NJIIS immunization programs, including vaccine storage, handling, and compliance; experience in pediatrics, OB/GYN, and family practice preferred
- Experience training and supervising LPNs and Medical Assistants
- Knowledge of FQHC operations, HRSA, UDS, and VFC requirements preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)-Preferred
