About the Role

The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store, including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, or Janitorial. Responsibilities include promoting sales, assisting customers, handling special orders, and maintaining department cleanliness and safety. The role involves receiving, inspecting, stocking, rotating, and merchandising products to ensure freshness and appeal.

Responsibilities

• Center Store/Front End: Operate check-stands, memorize PLU codes, order and stock products, merchandise, and perform POS and inventory activities.
• Produce: Receive, inspect, and log products; trim, wash, and wrap produce; stock and rotate products; maintain floral areas; clean department areas and equipment.
• Meat/Seafood: Receive, inspect, and log products; weigh, wrap, and label products; stock and rotate products; provide customer service at the seafood counter; take special orders; operate slicers and wrappers; clean department areas and equipment.
• Bakery/Deli: Receive, inspect, and log products; prepare, weigh, package, and label products; stock and rotate baked goods and deli products; take special orders; operate ovens, proofers, slicers, and mixers; clean department areas and equipment.
• Janitorial: Maintain store cleanliness and sanitation; sweep and mop floors; clean restrooms, break rooms, offices, shelving, cases, and equipment; clean front of store and parking lot; empty trash; operate janitorial equipment.
• All Departments:
  • Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
  • Operate forklift or baler if authorized and certified.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or additional job experience.
• Six months of related experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Capability to be proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible.
• Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.

Physical Demands

Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis; requires lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

Pay

Hiring pay range: $17.15 - $27.00 per hour.
