About the Role
The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist performs high-quality X-ray and CT procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. They explain procedures, verify patient information, operate imaging equipment safely, and produce accurate images for diagnosis. Collaboration with healthcare teams and adherence to safety, regulatory, and organizational policies are essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in X-ray and CT modalities
- Ensure patient care, comfort, and safety during procedures
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions
- Verify patient information and prepare patients appropriately
- Operate imaging equipment efficiently and safely
- Produce high-quality images for interpretation
- Maintain competency in imaging techniques and equipment
- Follow radiation safety standards
- Collaborate with medical team for accurate diagnosis
- Comply with regulatory and organizational policies
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program
- Minimum 2 years of diagnostic imaging & CT experience
- Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams
- Registration with ARRT (R) and ARRT (C), and SCRQSA certification
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to produce high-quality imaging independently
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of age-specific imaging criteria
