About the Role

The Multi-Modality Technologist I provides diagnostic imaging in multiple specialties in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Spends a minimum of 25% of time practicing in a secondary discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), taking appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
  • Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure(s).
  • Takes on-call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Assists with preparation and administration of contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Accredited Program in Imaging (Required)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license - State of Florida
  • One (1) year of technologist experience in a hospital setting
  • Registered by ARRT in either Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or Vascular Interventional Radiology (VI) within one (1) year of hire date

Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. Must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required.
