About the role
Under the direction of the supervisor, this position performs all functions related to a minimum of two modalities: CT, MRI, or Hybrid OR, in addition to general Radiology Technologist duties. The role involves assisting physicians with procedures, operating equipment, and ensuring high-quality imaging within specified guidelines and timeframes.
Responsibilities
- Perform procedures in at least two modalities: Radiology, CT, MRI, or Hybrid OR.
- Assist physicians with procedures as needed, following specified guidelines.
- Obtain accurate and pertinent clinical and patient history.
- Answer patient questions and explain procedures.
- Operate equipment within specifications and ensure technical quality assurance of images, including proper laterality marking and annotation.
- Utilize RIS, PACS, and other image management systems.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily workflow for department activities.
- Maintain equipment in efficient operating order, perform quality control testing, and arrange for repairs as needed.
- Rotate throughout the department based on staffing and volume needs.
- Participate in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff.
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Manage stock and inventory as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Associate's Degree (preferred).
- 10 months of clinical experience in CT, MRI, Hybrid OR, or one year of general radiology experience (required).
- 2 years of experience in two or more modalities (preferred).
Qualifications
- Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiology General Procedures program or US military Radiology General Procedures training program.
- Current and valid Arizona Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRTLC) licensure.
- Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.
- Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- If CT is a secondary modality: CTP (Computed Tomography preceptor license) and achieve ARRT CT registry and AZ CTCT licensure within 1 year.
- If MRI is a secondary modality: ARRT or ARMRIT MRI certification/registry.
Schedule
- PRN/per diem, as needed.
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.
