About the Role
Responsible for the operation of x-ray, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, and/or mammography equipment. Assists in accomplishing departmental objectives and goals. Helps create an environment that enables the medical imaging department to meet operational goals. Performs at least three of the listed modalities on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Performs various radiographic, mammographic, computed tomography, and/or ultrasound examinations consistent with employee's experience.
- Performs three modalities competently.
- Safely transports and transfers patients between gurneys and wheelchairs.
- Tests defibrillator and checks the integrity of crash cart.
- Performs mobile imaging examinations as necessary.
- Safely prepares contrast agents for medical imaging procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
- Three years' technical experience: Preferred
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification: Required
- Must have a current certification in one of the modalities and able to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality: Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography (M), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Sonography (S), or Positron Emission Tomography (PET): Required
- ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
- One of the following certifications: ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT), ARRT-Mammography (ARRT-M), ARRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MRI), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), ARRT-Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-NMT), State Nuclear Med Tech (SNMT), ARRT-Sonography (ARRT-S), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCS), or RTPET: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
