Multi Modality Interventional Radiology Tech - Full Time

About the Role

As a Multimodality Tech at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will be a Radiology Tech trained, qualified, and competent in at least two of the following disciplines, working in any area based on departmental needs:

  • General Diagnostic Radiology
  • CT
  • MRI
  • Mammography
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Ultrasound
  • Nuclear Medicine/PET

Responsibilities

  • Maintains adequate inventory of materials and supplies; recommends procurement of necessary supplies.
  • Coordinates scheduling of patients with admitting department, referring physicians, nursing staff, and inter-departmental sections.
  • Documents all Medical Center and Radiology charges for each exam.
  • Provides instruction to technologists and auxiliary personnel through formal and informal education.
  • Maintains standards of radiation safety throughout the department.
  • Assists Radiologists and other qualified physicians (under Radiologist supervision) in performing Interventional Radiology procedures.
  • Selects proper protocols for identified procedures.
  • Greets patients upon arrival using A.I.D.E.T. standards.
  • Ensures patients' safe transfer into and out of the Interventional Radiology suite.
  • Prepares images for review by radiologist.
  • Organizes and coordinates studies with previous x-ray studies.
  • Adheres to the principles of Image Gently & Image Wisely.
  • Follows infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
  • Maintains Interventional Radiology room cleanliness and supplies after each exam.
  • Operates radiographic equipment with mechanical injector at rates and amounts directed by radiologist.
  • Performs daily clerical duties, including use of EPIC, Teletracking System, patient scheduling, and other hospital computer systems.
  • Works scheduled shifts; overtime as needed for continual quality patient care.
  • Participates in on-call assignments per Department of Radiology policy.
  • Adheres to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies.
  • Identifies and addresses the needs of the patient population served (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing/visual impairments).
  • Adheres to Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
  • Performs specific daily and monthly Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Handles other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • One year of experience in Interventional procedures.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R).
  • Registration with the ARRT in one or more of the following modalities: MRI (or ARMRIT), CT, X-ray, IR, or Mammography.
  • NJ state license and Certification in Nuclear Medicine if secondary modality is Nuclear Medicine.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  • VI or CV certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Pay

Minimum starting rate of $44.30 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good-faith estimate and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions include a comprehensive benefits package with health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Eligible roles may also receive performance-based incentives, bonuses, commissions, or shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
