Multi-Media Journalist/News Producer

Responsibilities
- Assists with various aspects of news production, including shooting, writing, editing, and publishing content.
- Coordinates and conducts interviews, representing the station in community-related events.
- Develops interesting story ideas using strong editorial judgment.
- Facilitates the news gathering process and ensures comprehensive coverage of all news stories across all platforms.
- Works closely with the News Director, Assignment Editor, and MMJs to determine content needs.
- Writes compelling stories for newscasts, calls sources, and follows up on leads.
- Masters the station's graphics system and uses all available information and media to craft compelling and accurate daily stories on-air and online.
- Shoots, writes, and edits daily stories, coordinates interviews, and develops and maintains a network of contacts.
- Assists producers in establishing sources, finding and executing enterprise news investigations, building and maintaining a strong list of story ideas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or related field.
- Fluent in Spanish (high level of reading, writing, and speaking).
- Strong English, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Reporting, shooting, writing, and editing experience with a good ratings track record.
- Informed on news events locally and nationally.
- Knowledge of INews and Adobe Premiere editing software preferred.

Schedule
This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary. Must be willing to undertake shift work associated with working for a 24/7 news operation. Must be able to work holidays.
Supervisory Responsibility
Reports directly to News Director.
