About the role

We are seeking a Multi-Function Information Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of complex systems that include both software and hardware/infrastructure components. You will interface across multiple layers—from user-facing applications, system infrastructure and networking. You will apply systems engineering principles throughout the lifecycle (requirements, architecture, integration, verification & validation, sustainment).

Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Systems Administration:
    • Manage, configure, and maintain Windows server environments.
    • Maintain system performance, ensuring uptime and reliability.
    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
    • STIG checking and systems compliance.
  • Virtualization & Storage:
    • Implement and support Citrix virtualized environments.
    • Manage storage solutions relevant to Windows environments, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain security best practices.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Customer Service & Support:
    • Provide advanced support and troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and provide recommendations for system improvements.
    • Deliver high-quality customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Project Management & Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all system configurations, processes, and procedures.
    • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
    • Update and maintain all documentation as required.

Qualifications

  • A BS in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer engineering, business, science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of Windows systems engineering and administration experience is required for consideration. An overall combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Active DOE Q, active DOD Top Secret, or active DOD TS/SCI clearance is required for consideration.
  • Proven expertise in managing Windows server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and other core services.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technology.
  • Experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments.

Special Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
