Multi-Family Estimator

About the role

Responsible for estimating type 3 and type 5 construction wood frame multi-story buildings. Prepares accurate estimates, reviews project plans, and supports the bidding process for multi-family and commercial projects. Estimators must be detail-oriented, patient, and have experience estimating manually and/or with approved software (Planswift or similar).

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and project scope
• Create quality and accurate material lists from approved plans
• Collect and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Assist with bid submissions and proposals
• Identify risks and cost-saving opportunities
• Coordinate with project managers and internal teams
• Maintain estimate records and ensure deadlines are met

Requirements

• Experience in construction estimating (multi-family/commercial preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Proficient in estimating software (Planswift or similar) and Microsoft Office
• Good communication and time management skills
