The Opportunity

As a highly valued member of the Greenville, TX Team, the Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and modification of new and existing manufacturing equipment including building maintenance. This role will include maintenance support in all trades as required. This position will provide support to manufacturing maintenance team.

  • Tasks include electrical wiring, electrical power-up, troubleshooting, and verification of machine settings and functions.
  • Completes the mechanical testing and preventative maintenance of all equipment onsite.
  • The role may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.

Requirements

How You Will Impact WestRock

  • AC 3 phase motors and motor controls and conveyor applications.
  • AC/DC single phase motors and controllers including servo drive systems.
  • PLC and relay logic controls in various manufacturing equipment.
  • Electrical power distribution systems.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Repairs and maintains facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and humidification).
  • Prepares and operates machine tools such as grinders, and drill presses to repair or fabricate machine parts and/or fixtures.
  • Troubleshoots motors, pumps, compressors, and any other systems in the plant.
  • Operates scissor lifts and forklifts.
  • Installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Training/certification in machine-specific and electronics fields is preferred.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Preferred 2+ years of electrical schematic experience.
  • Must be able to properly use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Must have a working knowledge of AC/DC motors.
  • Must be trained in basic electric and mechanical safety.
  • Must have some basic computer experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the safe use of hand and small power tools.
  • Must be able to work on-call as needed.
  • Must have acute troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
