Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, Journeyman (Night Shift) – Modesto, CA
This position is for night shift (7:00 pm – 7:00 am). Orientation and training will be on 1st shift. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
About the role
We are looking for highly skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanics to troubleshoot and perform maintenance on manufacturing equipment. This role creates value by performing preventative and corrective maintenance, leading to increased uptime and reliability, helping the facility meet production and quality goals. Georgia-Pacific is a leading corrugated box manufacturer, producing standard corrugated containers and specialty packaging products.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems, repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures
- Help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
- Install and repair mechanical components, welding, and fabrication of materials
- Read and interpret mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
- Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
- Work in high and/or confined spaces
- Understand and apply safe work practices involving mechanical machinery and lock out tag out processes
- Troubleshoot electrical and/or mechanical problems and repair equipment (with a focus on mechanical aspects; electrical support depending on skills)
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Complete mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot and repair automated systems with remote technical support
Requirements
- Three (3) or more years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
- Three (3) or more years of experience with mechanical troubleshooting
- Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
- Experience in mechanical fabrication and repair, replacing components
- Experience in fast-paced troubleshooting to repair equipment efficiently with electrical or mechanical issues
Qualifications
The following experience will put you ahead:
- Electrical Certification, Industrial Maintenance Technician Certification, technical schooling, or other related educational certifications/degrees
- Experience with conveyers, pushers, industrial machinery, corrugated operations, ink printing machinery, and boilers
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing components on machinery and/or wiring
- Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
- One (1) or more years of experience in a corrugated manufacturing facility
Pay
Starting hourly rate of $37.88 per hour.
