About the role

This position will directly affect equipment uptime by applying skills to troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment used to make and deliver umbilical’s used in subsea oil and gas operations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand work center training and safety requirements, OEM manuals and other equipment procedures.
  • Continuous improvement through 6S, Lean Practices and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Daily completes computer-based maintenance documentation on work orders.
  • Daily share updates with the team through a turnover correspondence.
  • Maintain knowledge of company maintenance procedures, assist with daily maintenance checks and activities for work center as required.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Read hydraulic and electrical schematics, comprehend complex drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and test various tools and assemblies for onshore and offshore surface and subsea applications.
  • Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain procedures, objectives, test equipment nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts of subassemblies.
  • Setup and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors.

Qualifications

  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures that apply to a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to access work area by passing a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug and hair follicle test.
  • Requires ability to work minimum 8-hour shifts on a rotating or fixed shift. At times, some weekends.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Understanding of flushing and system fluid cleanliness installation.

Desired

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Electrician/Journeyman License desired.
  • Experience with 480 VAC power systems, breakers, Siemens AC/DC variable frequency drives, basic PLC principles.
