Multi-Cloud CDN Data Platform Engineer Intern (Global Engineering CDN) - 2026 Fall (BS/MS)
ByteDance's Global Engineering CDN team builds and operates a highly available, cost-efficient, and high-performance global multi-cloud CDN platform that powers large-scale products such as TikTok. Our platform integrates both self-built CDN infrastructure and commercial CDN vendors across multiple regions worldwide, delivering reliable and optimized content delivery for diverse global markets. The team develops and operates core platform capabilities including domain onboarding and configuration management, content management, data analytics, and global traffic optimization. Engineers work across software development and production operations, gaining hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems, global traffic management, and multi-cloud infrastructure.
About the role

Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building CDN data pipelines, dashboards, reports, or data quality checks.
- Participate in data analysis related to CDN traffic, performance, cost, resource usage, or vendor data.
- Help improve the visibility and usability of CDN operational and business data.
- Support data-driven analysis for platform governance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
- Work with mentors to understand CDN data models, metrics, and business scenarios.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electronic Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
- Familiar with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or Scala.
- Basic understanding of data structures, databases, SQL, or data processing concepts.
- Interested in data platforms, data analytics, cloud infrastructure, or network data.
- Strong learning ability, analytical thinking, and attention to data quality.
Qualifications
- Course projects, research projects, internships, or open-source experience related to data systems, backend development, or analytics are a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python-based analysis, data visualization, or basic dashboard development is a plus.
- Familiarity with Spark, Flink, Hive, Kafka, ClickHouse, Doris, or similar systems is a plus but not required.
- Experience building reports, dashboards, scripts, or data analysis projects is a plus.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $45.
