Job Summary

The position will work at Memorial Union’s Badger Market assisting with the daily operations including preparing and serving beverages, operating the register, stocking merchandise/food/beverages and maintaining inventory levels. The role requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential to create a friendly and positive experience for all patrons.

Compensation

$17.00 Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am). Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked. Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays.

Schedule

Monday - Wednesday 7:30am - 3:30pm, Saturday and/or Sunday 7:30am - 2:30pm (Schedule requires flexibility - depending on needs for coverage)

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities
  • Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Aids and guides student workers
  • Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes
  • Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers
