MTS Tester
About the role
Assist in the development, sing, release, and integration efforts of software and hardware associated activities. Major Responsibilities include hardware and software integration of new and/or existing systems, functions and LRUs designed by the Development Engineering and the Software Development groups. Integration of LRU and system functionality. Ensure all sing is properly documented and submitted. Responsible for the integration and maintenance of a s rack configuration with regards to the systems installation.
Responsibilities
- Software and system sing of all In-flight Entertainment (IFE) functionality for existing systems.
- Participate in the design and development of all IFE system functionality.
- Participate in all efforts in the sing and regression sing of software phase releases.
- Affiliate in the troubleshooting and analyzing root cause of any system anomalies/discrepancies in hardware and/or software.
Requirements
- Knowledge/Skill Requirements: A technical background in development and s. Familiar with Unix and Linux OS. Basic understanding of systems administrator capabilities and command language for Linux is preferred. Ability to plan engineering activities to perform tasks. Learn to use professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Generally applies existing practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data. Possess solid writing and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate in English, in person and on the phone. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. 0-3 years experience in software/system engineering development and/or software/hardware sing. IFE and/or Avionics industry experience is preferred.
- Other Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Majority of time spent at s rack (75%) which includes standing, lifting, bending, twisting and stooping.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. 0-2 years experience required. Experience sing software. Experience writing s documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and s results reports. Ability to analyze/interpret s results and provide recommendations to improve sing.
Additional Details
Integration sing of LRU and system functionality. Maintain and integrate s rack configurations for system installations. Participate in software release sing and regression sing. Act as a focal point for integration and problem investigation of assigned systems. Assist in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of hardware and software issues. Documentation: Ensure all sing is properly documented and submitted. Assist in developing s plans and procedures to validate system requirements. Communication: Assist and support engineering efforts company-wide as required.

Additional Summary
The main function of a MTS Test Engineer is to develop, implement, and document all sing activities, including s planning, s documentation, s execution, defect tracking and reporting, including follow-up and issue resolution.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute s plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
- Develop sing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
- Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
- Create or maintain databases of known s defects
- Plan s schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
