About the role
AMD is hiring a MTS Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and optimize low-level GPU-driven graphics technology. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal and external graphics and gaming technology partners to integrate, analyze, and optimize AMD gaming technologies into related products or games. This role involves using machine learning technologies and low-level graphics APIs to write efficient shaders for next-generation real-time graphics processing. Multiple openings are available.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, debug, and maintain graphics technology subsystems.
- Develop applications using 3D GPU-accelerated graphics and interactive visual elements.
- Write programs using High-Level Shading Language (HLSL) for graphics processors (GPU).
- Optimize CPU and GPU performance to maximize hardware efficiency for applications.
- Work with modern graphics standards such as DX12 and/or Vulkan.
- Build and optimize software for PC GPU gaming, gaming consoles, or handheld portable gaming devices.
- Use DirectX and Direct3D to create high-performance multimedia applications.
- Design and optimize GPU programming for high-performance tasks like AI, scientific simulations, or gaming.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields plus five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a related engineering role.
- Three (3) years of experience in the following:
- Programming in C or C++.
- Designing, implementing, debugging, and maintaining graphics technology subsystems.
- Utilizing 3D GPU-accelerated graphics for interactive applications.
- Working with High-Level Shading Language (HLSL) for GPU programs.
- CPU and GPU optimization for hardware performance.
- Modern graphics standards (DX12 and/or Vulkan).
- Building and optimizing software for PC GPU gaming, gaming consoles, or handheld devices.
- Using DirectX and Direct3D for high-performance multimedia applications.
