About the role
Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations. This role involves applying principles and techniques of engineering and mathematical analysis to deliver compiler tools supporting heterogeneous systems, including AI Engine processors, x86/ARM processors, and GPU/FPGA.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
- Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based, and internet-related tools.
- Define proprietary platform(s), including hardware and software components.
- Drive software and systems solutions, including development and product definitions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop systems-level software, addressing significant and unique technical challenges.
- Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance with independent judgment and minimal supervision.
- Apply knowledge of computers, electronics, engineering principles, and best practices to design, develop, and test AMD systems and products.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or a Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a closely related engineering role.
- Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role (or five (5) years with a Bachelor’s degree).
