Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to serve as a MSP Helicopter Pilot.

Position Duties

  • Operate helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft as per FAA regulations.
  • Maintain and update flight logs and records.
  • Participate in regular safety briefings and drills.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Twelve hundred (1200) helicopter or fixed wing flight hours as a FAA certificated pilot.
  • Possession and maintenance of FAA 2nd Class Medical certification.
  • Possession and maintenance of an acceptable Instrument Helicopter or Instrument Fixed Wing Rating as determined by FAA regulations.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid Maryland driver's license.

Selective Qualifications

  • Substitution of military service experience for the required experience.
  • Verification of flight hours through the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications

  • FAA 2nd Class Medical certification.
  • Instrument Helicopter or Instrument Fixed Wing Rating as determined by FAA regulations.

Special Requirements

  • Initial drug screening and criminal background investigation.
  • Call-in availability on a 24-hour basis.
  • Susceptibility to substance abuse testing.
  • Sign an Obligation Service Agreement.

Selection Process

  • Examination process involves completing a supplemental questionnaire.
