About the role
Identify and evaluate Key External Experts (KEEs) and future medical stakeholders aligned with meeting scientific goals in line with the medical strategy. Serve as a trusted advisor for scientific exchange throughout the product life cycle. Gather data from the field that generates medical insights, deliver medical/scientific learning solutions to internal stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with internal teams to execute tactical field plans for engagement with the medical/scientific community.
Responsibilities
- Support the MSL Team Lead in deploying tactical field plans for engagement with the medical/scientific community and managing overall Astellas business objectives.
- Serve as a coach, mentor, and role model for MSLs.
- Engage in scientific exchange to share knowledge about products, diseases, and therapeutic areas, ensuring safe and effective use of Astellas products.
- Discuss evolving trends in disease state management and therapy with external stakeholders.
- Engage external stakeholders in one-on-one interactions and group settings, demonstrating excellent scientific and clinical knowledge.
- Maintain medical and scientific expertise to enable peer-to-peer scientific exchange.
- Demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills to engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP in health-related sciences.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of scientific/medical experience in the research-based pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2-3 years in Medical Affairs.

Schedule
This is a field-based position based in New Jersey/New York. Travel is required to engage with physicians and attend congresses and internal training as needed.
Pay
Salary Range: $132,370 – $221,500 (final compensation determined based on skills, experience, and organizational equity considerations).
