Msap Grant Coordinator

About the role

The Msap Grant Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Durham, NC, responsible for coordinating all aspects of MSAP (Magnet Schools Assistance Program) grant activities for Durham Public Schools. This position oversees grant implementation timelines, ensures compliance with grant requirements, and supports program staff in delivering magnet-focused initiatives aligned with district goals.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budgets and expenditures
• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain accurate records of grant-related activities
• Collaborate with school and central office teams
• Gather and analyze data to measure program outcomes
• Assist in communicating grant objectives and progress to leadership, partners, and community members
• Support the development of future grant proposals
• Contribute to continuous improvement of funded programs

Qualifications

• Strong grant administration and program management skills, including experience tracking budgets, timelines, and compliance requirements
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and present information clearly in written and verbal formats
• Solid analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, evaluate program effectiveness, and make recommendations based on findings
• Demonstrated proposal writing skills, including experience drafting narratives, preparing supporting documentation, and aligning proposals with grant criteria
• Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and commitment to equity and student success

Preferred experience

• Prior work in K–12 education
• Familiarity with federal or state grant funding
• Proficiency with data management and office software tools
