Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Flightline Senior Aircraft Technician to join our Flightline team in Columbus, MS.
About the role
You will perform detailed assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft components and systems in the manufacture, maintenance, or refurbishing of aircraft, and function check of components. Conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems. Diagnose malfunctions or failures and make adjustments, repairs, or replacements of parts or components.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components (70% Aircraft Build-Up/Testing)
- Conduct operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose malfunction or failures on aircraft systems: aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant, and engine controls (20% System Troubleshooting)
- Assure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications
- Follow all OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations
- Complete forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work (10% Compliance)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six (6) years of aviation maintenance experience
- US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
- 10% domestic and international travel required
- 90% onsite work
Preferred Qualifications
- Flight Line experience
- Helicopter maintenance experience
- Airbus Helicopter airframe experience
- Safran Turbomeca engine experience
- FAA A&P license
Physical Requirements
- Vision: Able to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings daily
- Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone, and hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily
- Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications daily
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate personal computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, and related office equipment, as well as some production tools such as hydraulic lifts daily
- Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily
- Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily
- Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools daily
- Sitting: Able to sit for long periods in meetings or while working on the computer daily
- Squatting/Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving
- Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor daily
- Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces, daily
- Personal Protective Equipment: Required PPE includes Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
