About the role
As part of the MRO Team, the MRO Crib Attendant ensures all daily duties are completed on schedule under the direction of the MRO/Purchasing team. During non-active periods, the role assists with additional tasks as assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Gestamp Employee Policies, including attendance, punctuality, and conduct.
- Clock in and out for shifts and follow scheduled breaks and lunch times.
- Wear approved uniforms and attire.
- Prepare and supply materials to support Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) within the MRO crib area.
- Manage item additions, material changes, and obsoleting processes, including taking photos, updating SAP, and managing bin locations.
- Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing contents with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders.
- Communicate with buyers and vendors to resolve shipment or goods-related issues.
- Receive and process all shipments and goods into Gestamp systems at McCalla Plant I & II.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for stock and non-stock materials using SAP transactions.
- Perform all aspects of reservations, including running reports and issuing materials.
- Collaborate with the MRO Crib Buyer and purchasing team on procurement and expediting of products.
- Track and dispose of expired or non-moving materials physically and in SAP.
- Conduct daily cycle counting and reconcile discrepancies in SAP.
- Perform root cause analysis of inventory inaccuracies and follow standard practices for resolution.
- Provide training to personnel as outlined in the departmental training matrix.
- Facilitate the repair process for capital assets needing repair.
- Run weekly reports for stock-out materials and follow up on delinquent items.
- Assist internal customers at the MRO window by issuing materials using SAP.
- Perform daily 5S organization and cleaning duties as assigned.
- Operate a forklift to move and organize inventory (Gestamp certification required).
- Work any shift, including overtime and weekends, sometimes with short notice.
- Support a positive and productive environment within the department and across other departments.
- Participate in special projects and provide support in materials, production, stock audits, and system accuracy.
- Maintain excellent customer service skills for internal customers.
- Clean up after oneself when generating trash during assigned tasks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience in material handling and/or warehousing.
- Prior forklift and material handling experience; Gestamp-certified forklift operator.
- Experience using SAP for goods receiving and inventory management (strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management and material flow.
- Ability to operate computer terminals and barcode scanning devices efficiently.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong math and reading skills.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of shipping and receiving operations.
- Excellent safety, attendance, and performance record.
- Strong work ethic with a drive for excellence.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or manipulate objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences.
