MRO Assistant

About the Role

This position supports the maintenance team by managing inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance, repair, and operational activities. The role ensures timely availability of materials, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with procurement and safety standards. Responsibilities include monitoring and tracking maintenance materials across purchasing, processing, warehousing, and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain stock levels of MRO supplies and spare parts.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory audits.
• Assist in sourcing and ordering maintenance materials.
• Track purchase orders and follow up with vendors for timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Update inventory transactions and work order materials usage.
• Work closely with maintenance technicians to ensure required parts are available for scheduled work.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal departments regarding material needs.
• Ensure proper storage and labeling of materials according to safety standards.
• Support adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Direct and coordinate the purchasing of materials, supplies, or equipment required by the company.
• Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure food safety and quality of products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in inventory control, maintenance support, or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with CMMS and basic procurement processes.
