Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Accurately interprets physician’s instructions and orders.
- Performs required quality control procedures and ensures proper operation of equipment at all times.
- Works in partnership with the receptionist to enhance patient flow and work efficiencies.
- Receives and greets patient, obtains necessary medical history, and instructs and informs patient about the procedure.
- Selects software options and imaging parameters to achieve desired images.
- Operates equipment according to specific/recognized procedures and in compliance with established routines and techniques.
- Reviews images to ensure acceptable quality and completeness for diagnostic purposes.
- Immediately reports any concerns relating to the equipment operation.
- Provides images of high quality, coordinating and communicating with the referring physician or their staff as required.
- Celebrates coordination and communication with the UOI physician supervisor.
- Handles patients in a caring, courteous, and professional manner at all times.
- Proficiently evaluates patient ability to tolerate requested exams.
- Ensures images, examination requisitions, and other related records are properly completed to ensure correct patient identification, statistical, and billing information.
- Ensures that additional studies are authorized by the referring physician's offices and properly documented.
- Maintains complete and organized records of repairs requested and made on all equipment.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Adheres to HIPPA regulations.
- Responsible for overall cleanliness of the office and clinical areas at all times.
- Provides coverage for MRI reception as needed.
- Ability to operate on multiple PACS platforms and assist with PACS issues such as anomalies and combined folders.
- Assists with PACS issues such as anomalies and combined folders.
- Ensures that supply inventory is maintained at adequate levels at all times, equipment is in proper working order, and/or contacts service for adjustments and repairs as warranted.
Basic Knowledge
- Conceptual ability to determine means of providing requested studies based on the specifics of each case.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sensitivity to the needs of patients, ability to put patients at ease when in distress.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Possesses analytical skills to compile and interpret data.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide proper patient care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to perform all exams, as outlined by governing bodies, and the Orthopedic MRI of RI protocol.
Additional Requirements
- Experience using a Tesla .3 open Hitachi MRI with AI technology producing 1.2-1.5 clarity and Musculoskeletal Imaging exams is a plus.
- Physical dexterity and strength to operate all types of MR related equipment, properly position patients, and handle patient films and files.
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.
Education
- High School diploma plus two years of training at an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered technologist and has obtained adequate additional training in cross-sectional anatomy.
- Obtain and maintain additional accreditation and/or certification (s) required by the State, federal government within areas of expertise and to personally maintain the highest professional recognition levels available.
- Submit a copy of yearly CME reports to Orthopedic MRI of RI management.
- Registered technologist (ARRT); MR Certification.
