About the role
MRI Technologist responsible for independently operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and care.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures proficiently, including patient positioning, coil selection, and protocol adherence.
- Screen patients and staff for magnet safety, obtain clinical histories, and communicate effectively.
- Prepare the scan room, administer contrast within scope, and implement emergency procedures when necessary.
- Accurately record data, perform quality control, and stay informed on departmental updates.
- Provide clinical instruction to staff and students, and coordinate workflow to ensure proper staffing.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent experience.
- ARMRIT, ARRT in Radiology & MRI, or ARRT in MRI certification.
- BLS certification.
- Proficient in computer and data entry skills, with good mathematical aptitude.
- Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and imaging procedures.
Additional Information
This non-management role reports to a supervisor or manager. Flexibility in work shifts is required, with responsibilities including maintaining supplies, safety compliance, and documentation. The position emphasizes compassionate patient care and continuous professional development.
