MRI Technologist - Nights
About the role
An MRI Technologist I is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis and research. The role involves preparing patients, ensuring proper identification, and applying imaging protocols while prioritizing safety and patient care. Technologists evaluate image quality, assist with interventional procedures, and educate healthcare providers and students.
Responsibilities
- Obtain correct orders, prepare patients, and document clinical history confidentially.
- Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for safety.
- Administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and ensure proper data storage and transfer.
- Assist with magnetic resonance interventional procedures and select suitable pulse sequences.
- Apply MR safety guidelines and participate in safety implant investigations and approvals.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT required; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
Experience in radiologic technology or MRI preferred; advanced certification within 24 months for hires after a specified date.
Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
