Responsibilities
- Perform complex MRI examinations and procedures
- Screen patients for MRI contraindications and ensure MRI safety compliance
- Educate patients and monitor patient condition before, during, and after exams
- Select pulse sequences and optimize imaging parameters
- Perform MRI-guided procedures and assist with breast imaging and biopsies
- Perform venipuncture and administer contrast as required
- Cook up MRI schedules and prioritize emergent studies
- Maintain MRI protocols and recommend updates
- Conduct daily quality control and monitor PACS image transfer
- Serve as liaison with physicians, engineering, and MRI vendors
- Assist with staff training and MRI cross-training
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Certificate of Completion from a Radiologic Technologist training program accredited by an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and/or the JCERT
- Advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) is required
- A minimum of one (1) year of proven clinical experience in MRI in a Level 1 hospital setting is preferred
- Maintain active AHA BLS
- Previous Siemens equipment experience is preferred
