About the role

Oversees the staff and workflow in the MRI Department and troubleshoots issues with patients and Radiologists. Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Obtains patient history and screening forms, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Responsible for maintaining patient records and files. Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees administrative functions of staff in the department.
  • Supports and assists with training and orientation of new employees.
  • Supports and monitors reports identified as compliance matters.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols.
  • Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals.
  • Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Maintains professional development and education for technical competency.
  • Uses standard precautions and PPE at all times.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position.
  • Attends all required educational programs as well as all Learn modules.
  • Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes resources efficiently.
  • Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within assigned area.
  • Knowledge and performance of the Code of Conduct Standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required.
  • State of Kentucky License required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
  • 1 year of previous experience in MRI required; 2 years preferred.
