MRI Technologist (FT) | Radiology | Ames | 2026-110

Responsibilities

• Position patient and perform MRI studies under the guidance of a radiologist in accordance with set protocols.
• Adhere to MRI safety policies and standards.
• Appropriately adjust technical parameters as necessary for adequate image quality.
• Evaluate images for proper image quality.
• Administers contrast media and other medication under the guidance of a radiologist.
• Obtains patient history and significant clinical information for procedure.

Requirements

• Completion of accredited course radiologic technology or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Board certification - ARRT, MRI preferred.
• Required within 1 year of hire.
• Current State permit as General Diagnostic Radiographer, if not ARRT (MR) board certified.
• Current BCLS certification.

Education

Completion of accredited course radiologic technology or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.

Experience

• Experience in MRI modalities preferred, not required.
• Siemens platform MRI experience is a plus.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is a plus.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays.
Work shift is Monday - Thursday 10 AM - 6:30 PM and Friday 6:30 AM - 3 PM.
