Imaging Technologist, MRI

Responsibilities

• Covers magnetic resonance imaging screening, ensuring equipment safety and high-quality imaging.
• Reads and comprehends imaging orders, consulting with radiologists as needed.
• Gathers consent for contrast injection and establishes intravenous access.
• Determines appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters based on anatomical knowledge.
• Guides patients through examinations, managing patient anxiety and expectations.
• Precepts new staff members and provides orientation to colleagues.
• Collaborates to plan work schedules and manage patient flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Science.
• Registered MRI technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Five (5) years of clinical imaging experience, three (3) of which must be in MRI.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, either through education or experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting complex radiology orders.
• PREFERRED: Experience with point-of-care-testing platforms and PACS.
