The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures, including preparing and administering contrast media. This position provides direct patient care, monitors patient condition, and initiates life support measures when necessary during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, explain procedures, and provide instructions during MRI scans
• Teach staff protocols and administer contrast media using aseptic techniques
• Position patients on the MRI table and label films with correct exam data
• Record, process, and maintain computerized images and patient logs
• Select scanning protocols, set exposure, and adjust for optimal results
• Perform equipment calibration, checks, and minor repairs; maintain records
• Maintain inventory and request service for equipment repairs
• Assist in developing MRI operational policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology or accredited program
• ARRT, NMTCB, or equivalent certification

Preferred

• At least 2 years prior employment in MRI or equivalent imaging related field
