Education

• Licence to practice Radiologic Technology from NYS Department of Health with a current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• MRI registry is required within two years of employment.
• An injection license is also a requirement.

Experience

Experience preferable, however we will train a new graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program. GE experience is highly recommended.

Physical Requirements

• May require standing for 1-4 hours or sitting 1-7.5 hours at a time.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Heavy carrying up to 50 pounds and pulling, pushing, repeated bending, manual dexterity and reaching above shoulder level are also required.
• Requires assisting patients on and off exam tables and positioning of patient.

Critical Demands

• Able to work with minimal supervision and to set own priorities if necessary.
• Able to work effectively with patients of all ages and in all types of medical situations.

Occupational Hazards

• Potential exposure to hazardous and toxic substances and infectious patients.
• Responsible for adhering to standards of MR safety and protection as established by regulatory bodies and monitored by the Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO).
• Responsible to use universal precautions.

Position Summary

Performs MRI procedures. Adheres to MRI safety for patients and staff within MRI zones 1 through 4. Provides patient services using Magnetic diagnostic imaging.

Equipment Used In Job

• MR equipment and systems specific to location.
• Variety of office equipment, such as computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines.

Pay

• Pay rate: $37.60-56.40
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
• Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
• The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
