MRI Technologist

About the Role

The MRI Technician performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures, reviews patient history and physician orders, educates patients, administers contrast media when appropriate, monitors patient condition, and ensures high-quality imaging results. They coordinate MRI exams, document patient information accurately, and troubleshoot imaging issues, ensuring patient safety and care continuity.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans following standards and protocols
• Review and interpret physician orders and patient histories
• Educate patients on procedures and equipment
• Administer contrast media within scope of practice
• Monitor patient condition during procedures and respond to changes
• Prepare equipment, select imaging parameters, and position patients
• Analyze images, identify quality issues, and resolve them
• Document scan results and patient data accurately
• Assist with workflow management and ensure quality care
• Identify MRI compatibility of items and screen patients accordingly

Requirements

• Associate's Degree required
• ARRT certification with at least one year of DMS experience (preferred)
• Certification in Mammography or willingness to obtain within a year
• Current BLS certification
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and handle stressful situations
