About the role

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for patient safety and the performance of high-quality MR studies on site. You ensure effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, particularly in a mobile environment. When required, you train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and/or MR Technologist Assistants.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, and remote oversight of MR Technologist Assistants when required.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images, potentially operating multiple MR systems.
  • Demonstrate effective communication through all channels to address concerns, solve problems, and manage conflict.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
  • Train and orient new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants, both on-site and remotely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.
  • State license, if applicable.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
  • For technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months of supervised MRI clinical scanning experience OR currently enrolled for more than 6 months in an accredited MRI training program.
  • For MR registered technologists (RT(MR) or ARMRIT): No experience required.
  • Ability to work at several locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
  • Local travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
  • 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

Physical Requirements

  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
  • Exposure to a strong magnetic field.
  • May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious or communicable diseases when interacting with patients.
  • More than 50% of the time: Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs, seeing, speaking, and hearing to communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: Stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, carrying, and lifting (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or examination).
